The proceed to checkout button doesn't work
If the Proceed to Checkout button does not work, check to make sure you have selected a Genetic Sex.
Why do I need to provide my Genetic Sex?
Y-DNA tests are not available for genetic females, so this helps ensure the test you get is available for the test taker. It is also an extra step in the process to make sure the sample matches the test taker.
Why do I need to provide a phone number?
Depending on location and shipping method, a phone number may be needed. Missing phone numbers can cause significant delays for postal carriers. To ensure prompt and accurate service, a phone number is required.
Your phone number (and mailing address) is not visible to matches and is not used for marketing purposes.
I am ordering a test for someone else. What name should I enter?
The Name entered for the shipping address is the name that will be registered to the kit and displayed to matches if you opt in to matching. To ensure that the package is delivered to you correctly, the best options are to:
- Enter the name for the recipient of the package to ensure accurate delivery. After it arrives, the name can be changed to that of the test taker.
Or
- Enter the test taker’s name in the First and Last Name fields and “℅ [your name]” in Address Line 1.
You can always change the name to that of the test taker when it arrives, if needed.
I do not know yet who will take the test. What name should I enter?
A name is required for proper delivery and identification of the purchaser. The name can be changed at any time in the Account Settings, so it is okay if you do not know who will ultimately provide the DNA sample for that kit. If you need help changing the name or other contact details, our Customer Service team would be happy to help. Please have the billing address and other information ready for verification when you do so.
Gift card or coupon code errors
There are separate fields for these two similar, but distinct types of discounts.
- Coupon Code - If you have a coupon code from an event or promotion, you can enter this on the Shopping Cart page where you select the test type(s) you would like to order.
- Gift Card - If you received a gift card as a present, this code can be entered on the Checkout page where you enter your shipping and bi;lling information
If you have a coupon code or gift card, make sure you are entering that information in the correct field.
