Introduction
After you have purchased a test from FamilyTreeDNA, you have the option to order additional testing through your account.
NOTE: Add-ons and upgrades are processed with the sample stored for that kit, and that test taker. If you manage multiple kits, make sure you are signed into the correct kit number.
FamilyTreeDNA guarantees that your DNA sample will be stored for up to twenty-five years. Each additional test that is purchased on the same kit will use a small portion of the sample. However, this DNA will degrade over time and is subject to the quality of the original DNA swab. If you are concerned about the viability of your sample, please contact us.
Accessing the Add-Ons & Upgrades Page
To access from your dashboard:
- Sign in to your kit.
- On your dashboard, click or tap the Add-Ons & Upgrades button near the top right corner of the screen.
Selecting Add-Ons & Upgrades
The Add-Ons & Upgrades page lists all tests the kit does not currently have. To order the test or upgrade of your choice and click or tap the Add to cart button.
After you have made your selection, you can proceed to checkout with the blue View Cart button, or continue and add more tests to the cart. Again, remember that any tests purchased on this page will be run on the kit you are signed into. For instructions on using the shopping cart, please see this article.
