Understanding Your STR Results Download

Your data file will be downloaded to your computer’s default download location, usually your Download folder. It will be in Comma Separated Value (.csv) format and can be opened with Microsoft Excel, Notepad, or other programs. When opened with Microsoft Excel, the data is displayed in two rows. The top row displays the STR names, while the cell directly below reports their numeric value.

When opened with Notepad, the file lists all STR names in a comma-delimited list, followed by their corresponding value in matching order in a comma-delimited list.

Note: This data format does not contain chromosome position information.
