mtDNA Ancestral Origins Introduction

Your mtDNA Ancestral Origins page displays the self-reported ancestral information of your mtDNA matches who have provided a country of origin for their maternal Earliest Known Ancestor. 

You can add your maternal Earliest Known Ancestors on the Genealogy page in Account Settings . For more information, see the Earliest Known Ancestors Tab topic. 

Accessing mtDNA Ancestral Origins 

You can access mtDNA Mutations from your dashboard or from your navigation bar.

To access from your dashboard:

1. Sign in to your kit.
2. On your dashboard, locate the mtDNA Results & Tools widget.
3. On the mtDNA Results & Tools widget, click the See More button, and select Ancestral Origins from the list menu.

To access from your navigation bar:

1. Sign in to your kit.
2. On the navigation bar at the top of the page, go to Results & Tools > mtDNA > Ancestral Origins.
