The default order of your mtDNA matches is the highest Match Level you have tested to. Each match level is listed in order of Genetic Distance to you. Your closest matches will always appear at the top of each match level, regardless of the match date.
On the mtDNA Matches page you can sort by the match date or filter your matches by date range.
IMPORTANT: The Match Level of your new match is listed in your email notification.
Match Levels
mtDNA Matches are divided into three levels: Hypervariable Region 1 (HVR1), Hypervariable Region 2 (HVR2), and the Coding Region . When you visit your matches page, the highest match level you have is displayed by default regardless of whether there are any matches.
